RAVENSOOD, W.V. - In its final tuneup before the GLIAC Championships on April 16-18, the Davenport men's golf team competed at Ohio Valley's Mister Bee Invitational at Green Hills Country Club on Saturday and Sunday. The Panthers made it back-to-back top-three showings with a third-place finish while
Brandon Bodis and
Ryan Kauppila were part of the five-way tie for sixth individually at +4.
Bodis shot a two-round score of 148 (70-78), just one stroke off his career low for 36 holes, and that first-round score of 70 is a new personal best for the junior. His teammate and redshirt senior, Kauppila, shot a 72 (tied career low) and a 76 while his total of 148 was just three strokes higher than his previous 36-hole best.
Noah Bridgeman also earned a top-20 finish for Davenport in a tie for 16th with a 152 (74-78) at +8 and was only one stroke shy for both his 18-hole and 36-hole career lows. Rounding out the participation for Davenport was
Dominic Ciantar in a tie for 45th with a 164 (82-82, +20) and
Ryan TenBrink in 55th with a 168 (81-87, +24).
The 2021 GLIAC Men's Golf Championships will take place in Augusta, Mich. at Stoatin Brae Golf Course.
