Cooper Weidenthaler

Primary contact for women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, dance, men's golf, men's basketball, softball, and women's lacrosse.

Weidenthaler joined the Davenport University Athletic Department in July of 2019 after three years as the Coordinator of Media Relations/Event Management at Truman State University of Division II's Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). There he was the primary contact for women's volleyball, men's soccer, men's basketball, men's and women's swimming, women's golf, and softball, but aided the Director of Athletics Communication in coverage for all 18 of Truman's NCAA sponsored sports. Weidenthaler interviewed, hired and oversaw the student work force on a daily basis as well.

Prior to Truman, Weidenthaler spent 2015-16 as an intern in the Appalachian State University Sports Information department in Boone, North Carolina. There, he was the primary contact for men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's and women's indoor track and field, and softball.
 
The Panora, Iowa native earned a Master of Education degree in Sport Management while serving as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Communications office at Millersville University in Millersville, Pa. During those two years (2013-15), Weidenthaler served as the primary contact for women's volleyball, women's cross country, women's basketball, women's golf, and softball. In the summer of 2016, he was a volunteer for the Marauders during their play in the NCAA Baseball Division II National Championship.
 
Weidenthaler completed his undergraduate work at Upper Iowa University (2009-13) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Communication. During those years, he worked in the Sports Communication department and assisted in all aspects of the office's efforts.
 
He has also completed internships for the York College Athletic Communications office (Spring 2015), the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods Baseball League (Summer 2012) and the Oakland Raiders (Summer 2011).
