Panthers kick off indoor season at Bill Clinger Classic

Noah Dooley took first in the 200 meter dash and Isaiah Schafer hit a provisional mark in the shot put

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport track and field programs were able to send a handful of student-athletes to the Bill Clinger Classic hosted by Grand Valley State on Friday. The Panthers were hitting the track for the first time since last year's GLIAC Indoor Championships. 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Noah Dooley won the 200 meter dash in a field of 19 competitors with a time of 22.29 and set a personal best. Dooley also placed fifth in the high jump (6' 0.5") and eighth in the pole vault (13' 11.25") which also set a personal best.
  • Isaiah Schafer placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 55' 4.25" and hit a provisional mark in the process. Schafer was also about a foot off his personal best.
  • Leialani Akalaonu finished third in the 60 meter dash in her first meet with a time of 8.23 seconds.
  • Emma Schafer placed third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.57 seconds and was also fifth in the high jump (4' 11.75").
  • Stacia Rispress placed fifth in two events including the high jump (4' 11.75") and 60 meter hurdles (9.86 seconds).
  • Brendan LaLonde placed third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.21 seconds and set a personal best.
  • Colin Grady finished second in the long jump with a distance of 21' 3.25"
