EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Panthers competed in the NCAA Regionals today for the first time in program history. Davenport, who was recently accepted as full members into NCAA Division 2 this year, ran in the NCAA cross country regionals for the first time. The field was extremely tough, showcasing the best runners in all of the Midwest Region. The men finished in 23
rd place with 669 points and the women placed 28
th with a score of 863.
Morgan Posthuma broke her own school record in the 6K and
Thomas VanSlembrouck set the school record in the 10K. This was the first time the men's team has run a 10K in competition.
VanSlembrouck had the top individual mark for the Panthers, finishing in a time of 33:01.2 and taking 40
th place.
TJ Moore finished in 35:25.8 and placed 134
th.
Brad Hotovy took 151
st place with a time of 35:53.8. With a time of 36:43.5
Hunter Nelson took 170
th place, while
Brendan McCoy finished 174
th with a time of 37:05.0.
Trevor Luznak placed 179
th, finishing in 37:27.1, and
Joey Fox placed 185
th, with a time of 38:25.3.
Posthuma had the top time/place for the women, finishing in 23:15.0 and taking 100
th place.
Julianna Wilson finished 146
th with a time of 24:20.8 and
Avri Beach finished 201
st with a time of 27:12.0. Finishing in 202
nd was
Autumn Hancock, who recorded a time of 27:21.7.
Erin Dorn placed 214
th with a time of 28:36.3 and
Britney Medcoff placed 215
th with a time of 28:42.8.
