ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport track and field programs were able to have one last tune up before hosting the GLIAC Championships next week. The Panthers are excited to be hosting the conference outdoor meet after COVID-19 wiped it out last year and this meet at Grand Valley State served as a chance to fine tune a couple of things before Wednesday.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

• Leialani Akalaonu placed ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.58
• Sarah Stapleton finished eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 28.03
• Scout Nelson finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 59.73 and set a new personal record
• Lisa Wangler placed fourth in the shot put throwing the sphere a distance of 43' 2.5" and she also was fourth in the hammer at 164' 1"
• Allison Ryder placed second in the discus with a throw of 116' 5"
• Rachel Morris was right behind Ryder in third place with a throw of 109' 4"
• Brandon LaLonde crossed the finish line fourth in the 100-meter dash in 10.9 seconds which was a personal best but wind aided and not recognized as a true mark
• Colin Grady finished fourth in the 200 meters in a time of 21.92 seconds and also had a wind advantage which bested his previous best
• Collin Graham was fifth and Shem Haas was sixth in the 800 meters. Graham was done in 2:03.84 and Haas right behind at 2:04.19
• Isaiah Schafer had just one throw count in the shot put but made the best of it to hit a provisional mark of 56' 11.25". Schafer also placed second in the discus and hit a provisional at 173' 8" which was a personal best
