DU travels to Decatur for Millikin Big Blue Invite

DECATUR, Ill. - The Panther track and field teams made a trip to the Millikin Big Blue Invite on Saturday in a non-team scoring event. 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Leialani Akalaonu was able to finish fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.68. She also set a personal best and finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.48.
  • Scout Nelson, also a member of the women's basketball team, finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.79. Nelson also finished fourth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:58.15.
  • Emma Schafer was able to win the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.99 and she also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles and set a personal best with a time of 1:05.62.
  • Deidre Lorton placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 5' 0.25".
  • Alexandra Eby was second in the pole vault with a mark of 10' 11.75".
  • Lisa Wangler placed second in the shot put with a long toss of 38' 0.75". Wangler also was second in the discus with a toss of 110' 7". She also competed in the hammer throw and won it with a mark of 169' 2" which set a personal best.
  • Collin Graham on the men's side placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 52.27.
  • Shem Haas had a strong showing in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.57 and finished second.
  • TJ Moore won the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:49.59.
  • Corbin DeJonge won the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. His time was 15.35 in the 110 and 55.48 in the 400.
  • Austin Berg placed second in the high jump with a height of 5' 11.5".
  • Jacob Atlas and Mitchell McKelvey each shared first in the pole vault with a mark of 13' 11.25". 
  • Colin Grady won the long jump with a distance of 21' 10.25".
  • Demetri Griffin placed second in the triple jump at a mark of 42' 11.5" and also set a personal best.
  • Isaiah Schafer placed first in the shot put with a mark of 55' 9.75". Schafer also took the title in the discus with a mark of 151' 8" to set a personal best.
  • Claude Ockert won the hammer throw with a mark of 183' 11" and hit a NCAA DII Provisional Mark.
  • Ryan Querro placed second in the javelin throw tossing the spear a distance of 136' 5" to set a personal best.
