GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport fell 8-1 against future GLIAC opponent Ferris State University. The team was swept in all six singles matches and notched one win during the second doubles match of the day.
Matthew McClurg and
Matthew Boyle carried their own weight as they defeated the duo of Steward Sell and Danlil Tarantinov for Ferris State by a score of 8-6. The first doubles match with the combo of
Sam Rogerson and
Juan-Philip van Antwerpen were defeated by only two games.
Antwerpen put up the biggest fight in the singles competition as he took his opponent to 13 games during the second set.
Davenport competes against another future GLIAC opponent in Grand Valley State University on Sunday.
