SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Davenport men's tennis team battled to the bitter end at Lawrence Tech on Thursday before falling 5-4. The Panthers faced a Lawrence Tech team that improved to 18-2 overall and 2-1 in the WHAC. The Blue Devils took two of the three doubles matches.
Haja Denise and
Kevin Slagh got the win for Davenport by a 8-6 count at two doubles over Jan Horstkoetter and Mason Wenzel.
The top three in the singles order all got wins for the Panthers.

Matthew Boyle and JP van Antwerpen each went three sets and McClurg and van Antwerpen each rallied after dropping the first set. Denise won the first set at four singles (7-6) but then fell 6-2, 6-2 to Robert Saitov. Wenzel and Vincent Colarossi each won in straight sets at five and six singles for Lawrence Tech.
