GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After the Davenport men and women's tennis teams concluded their regular season on Wednesday afternoon, the Panthers will gear up for the WHAC Tournament this weekend. The women's team will open the tournament as the second-seed in the tournament and will face Concordia on Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. The men earned the third seed in the tournament as they face sixth-seeded Lawrence Tech Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the Gainey Athletic Complex.
 
The Lady Panthers enter the WHAC Tournament as the number two overall seed as they will look to defend their WHAC Tournament Championship they won after defeating Northwestern Ohio in the WHAC Championship last season. This year the Racers earned the number one seed and will receive a first round bye into the semifinals were they will face the winner of the 4/5 matchup between Cornerstone and Indiana Tech, while Aquinas and Lawrence Tech will conclude the field in the three against six match.
 
On the men's side, Davenport earned the third seed in the tournament after they defeated Indiana Tech, who dropped to the fourth seed. Davenport will face Lawrence Tech in the first match of the day, while Indiana Tech will face Cornerstone to cap off the opening round. Northwestern Ohio earned the number one seed and Aquinas earned the second seed, and both team earned a first round bye. The Racers will face the winner of the Indiana Tech and Cornerstone, while Aquinas will face either Davenport or Lawrence Tech.
 
The first two rounds of the WHAC Tournament will be held on Friday, with the championship matches being held on Saturday. The first round matches will take place at Gainey Athletic Complex except for the Davenport/Concordia women's match will take place at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. All the semifinals and championship matches will be held at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex.
