GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The D3 Hockey team came home for the first time this season, as they took on Hope College for the second-half of the back-to-back.

The Flying Dutchmen continued their offensive onslaught from Friday night into Saturday night's contest, as they make it 15 consecutive wins against the Panthers.

The Flying Dutchmen got started early with a power play goal from Brendan Sanders, his fourth of the season. Just before the halfway mark of the period, Kevin Healy tapped in his third of the season to put the Dutchmen up by two.

Into period two, Hope was able to take advantage while the Panthers were on the power play, as Bradley Baysore and Jake Adams each scored shorthanded minutes apart to put Hope up 4-0 a little over five minutes into the period. Later on in the period, Gabe Gunneson scored back-to-back goals to send the Dutchmen into the third period with a six-goal lead.

In the final frame, Baysore and Sanders each scored their second goals of the contest, with Lucas Barber finding the back of the net, and Hope would complete the weekend sweep with a 9-0 win.

WHO'S NEXT?

The Panthers have a quick turnaround, as they travel over to Kentwood to host Marian University for a late-afternoon battle. This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams, and the first of three matchups this season.

This is only the second season for the D3 Sabres, as they went 1-5 in the inaugural season.

Game time at Kentwood Ice Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m.
