Panthers compete in loaded field at Kegel/ISBPA Classic

ADDISON, Ill. - The Davenport bowling teams competed at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Classic over the weekend against a very stacked field of the best the Midwest has to offer on the lanes.

The men's team finished 31st of 75 teams with a pinfall total of 8,450. The combo of individual qualifying and 20 baker games were calculated in the team pinfall total. The Panthers had 4,624 after the individual portion. Brandon Hyska held down the top spot of the roster with 81st place after an average of 199.4. He saved his best for last with a 233. Nicholas Luther placed 179th with a total of 912 and topped out at 230. Logan Smith totaled 880 in five games and placed 210th.

The women's team finished 54th of 57 squads with a total of 6,970 and on an individual basis totaled 3,833. Merisa Batkins totaled 848 pins in five games which included a 206 in the fourth game. Emily Tanis started off slow in her first two games but rallied with scores of 191, 183 and a 245 which was a season-high for her. Mikaela VanDuinen totaled 826 with a best of 207 in the third game.
