BEAVERCREEK, Ohio - The University of Pikeville hosted the Orange and Black Classic over the weekend. The Panther bowling teams traveled to the Buckeye State and competed in a loaded field.

The women's team finished 21st of 25 and the men's team finished 14th of 33. Merisa Batkins had the best showing for Davenport finishing 16th in the field of 211 bowlers. She averaged 183.3 for five games including two games over 200. Her high game was 221 in the third game of the set. Marisa Bacon placed 75th overall with an average of 151.8. Emily Tanis was the third in order for the Panthers with an average of 148.3. Mikaela VanDuinen placed 131st with an average of 131.5.

Logan Smith checked in as the top finisher for the men's team. He was 26th overall with a 209.2 average in five games. He rolled a high of 255 in the second game of the set and finished with a 219. Grant Oehler finished with an average of 197.6. After an opening 156, Oehler stormed back with four straight 200 games including a high of 224 in the fifth game. Seth Buckley was one spot behind Oehler and averaged 197.4. Buckley opened with a 211 and finished with a 279. Brandon Hyska turned in a 181 average with his best game of 223 in the third game.
