Panthers Lose Close Game Against McKendree University 2-0

Davenport held the Bearcats scoreless in the first and third period

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers held the Bearcats scoreless for 40 minutes of play, but McKendree was able to score two goals in the second period to win the game. Davenport is now 7-8 on the season and are fighting some tough battles against teams that are nationally ranked. McKendree is now 9-6 and are currently ranked 13th in the nation while the Panthers are ranked 14th.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Panthers played phenomenal defense during the first and third periods holding the Bearcats scoreless. McKendree found offensive success during the second period where they scored two un-answered goals. Davenport was only able to get off 17 shots on goal, while McKendree tallied 35 shots on goal.
-Lexie Boydston and Victoria Dubuc each spent four minutes in the penalty box.
-Karley Ferguson spent all 60 minutes as the goal tender and saved 33/35 shots sent her way.
 
UP NEXT
The Panthers have a huge test upcoming as they play two road games at Miami University of Ohio. Miami is currently ranked second in the nation and holds a record of 9-2-1 and has outscored their opponents 54-21. Davenport will play on December ninth at 10:30 p.m. and tenth at 7:00 p.m.
