GLIAC Release
GLIAC - Krystina Dunston, Davenport's senior defender from Ada, Michigan, was named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC on Saturday afternoon as announced by the league. Dunston is the fifth Panther to receive postseason recognition from the GLIAC joining
Madeleine Zayan (2017),
Roheema Bennett (2018),
Imanie Richards (2019), and
Allison Luurtsema (2019).
"Congratulations to Krystina on being recognized and named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC," said her head coach,
Paige Eli. "This season, Krystina displayed a lot of growth, maturity, discipline, and leadership on the field as a center back, which attests to the many outstanding performances she displayed throughout our nine games! We are extremely happy to see her efforts rewarded this season!"
As a team captain for the 2020-21 season, Dunston was one of just three Panthers (
Marissa Woods and
Kandis Orns) to start all nine of the team's matches. She was also one of only two Panthers (Woods) to be on the field for all 830 minutes that Davenport played as a team.
Dunston finished her career with 57 matches played, 55 of which came as a starter and those 55 starts are good for ninth in the program's career record book. The Forest Hills Northern product missed just two games in her four-year career and was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team as a junior in 2019.
