GLIAC - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its men's soccer postseason awards after voting conducted by the league's head coaches. Senior midfielder Daire O'Riordan has been named First Team All-GLIAC and graduate student goalkeeper Carter SelviusĀ has been named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC.

O'RiordanĀ now has been named to the all-conference list for four straight seasons. He repeats as a first team selection from 2019 and has also been honorable mention (2018) and second team (2017). He has helped guide the team to the GLIAC Tournament final which will take place on Sunday against Ashland. O'RiordanĀ has played in eight matches this spring and has two goals and one assist. He converted a penalty kick goal against Northern Michigan on March 14 and scored the team's only goal in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal at Northern Michigan on April 25. Daire's greatest strength is his leadership and the way he controls the tempo and possession for the Panthers.

"What a well-deserved honor for Daire! He is a wonderful leader and has been one of the best players in the league. He truly put the team on his shoulders this year and found ways to make things happen. Despite the injury challenges we had on the squad this year, he continued to battle and lead the boys into every game. What a warrior! - head coach Chris Hughes.

SelviusĀ made an impact in his first year with the program after earning accolades while at Cedarville University. He showed his worth in goal for the PanthersĀ but maybe his greatest moment was when, due to injuries on the team, he played forward against Ashland. SelviusĀ posted a 1.31 goals-against average in eight matches at goalkeeper. He made 34 saves including a season-high 10 against Parkside on April 11. He also had a great match in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal at Northern Michigan on April 25 with nine saves in addition to two saves during penalty kicks to decide who was moving on. Selvius ranked third in the GLIAC in goals-against average and minutes played (753:16).

"Despite the many changes in the back line this year, Carter has stepped up and gone above and beyond. He's never complained about anything but chooses to make his teammates better on a daily basis. He is an outstanding goalkeeper and incredible athlete that has a very good knowledge of the game. He is also an incredibly humble servant and we are blessed to have him between the pipes."Ā -Ā  head coach Chris Hughes.
