One of the most successful programs over the past half-decade at Davenport University has been the STUNT Program. They have won the last five D2/D3 national championships and two Varsity STUNT National Championships.
 
One of the team's talented members for the past four seasons has been Flyer Katie Wise. The Grand Blanc-native has been a member of both the STUNT team and Competitive Cheer team since arriving to DU back in 2016.
 
Katie started cheer back in middle school in her hometown, but did not fall in love with the sport until she started to cheer into High School. Her desire to continue to cheer into college brought her to Davenport, and immediately found a spot on the STUNT team.
 
Standing at 5'1", Wise was almost immediately placed into the role of flyer back in Grand Blanc, and seemed to have no problem with her position.
 
"It just kind of came natural to me," Wise commented. "I just stuck with it, and I just loved it."
 
Katie is amused on how people are in awe of when her, and the rest of the Panther Flyers, are practicing their daring feats of acrobatics.
 
"It is funny to watch people watch us, and see their reactions to what we're doing."
 
Despite the obvious dangers of flying, Wise is in full trust of her teammates on ground level to ensure to sticks the landing.
 
"Our team is literally like a family, so I automatically just give trust into them. They have the best interest for me, and we all help each other."
 
Wise has also mentioned that even if something does awry, she is always ready to get back up and try it again.
 
After graduating with a business degree from Davenport, Wise plans to continue to follow the Panther STUNT and Cheer squads at every competition. Along with that, she wants to dive into the business world as apart Human Resources, particularly in the automotive or airline industry.
