GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The men's soccer team will finally play a home match as they wind down their non-conference slate this week when they welcome in Holy Cross College (Ind.) on Wednesday and Huntington University (Ind.) on Saturday. Head coach Chris Hughes and his team bring a 5-1-0 overall record into the week after splitting a pair of matches at the IWU Classic this past weekend.

The Saints enter the week with an overall mark of 3-1-1 which includes a win over Cornerstone (3-2) in their last outing and posted a tied with No. 4 Ashford earlier in the season. The Saints are led by four goals from Lukman Ahmed-Shaibu while three others have a single goal each. In net, HCC is led by Iain McTurk who has a 1.62 GAA and is 2-1-1.

Scouting Huntington University – 1-5-0, 0-0-0 CL – Head coach Scott Murray (15th season)
The Foresters hail out of the Crossroads League and bring a 1-5-0 record into the week after falling to Siena Heights in their last outing 2-1. Scott Murray is tops in goals with three while Joey Newbery has a pair on the season. Head coach Russ Lawson turns to goalkeeper James Couchman in net as the sophomore from the UK has a 2.75 GAA.

Home Openers
The Panthers have never lost a home opener as they are 8-0-1 all-time. In the 2013 home opener, Davenport posted a 2-0 win over UM-Dearborn.

Success at DU Turf Field
Davenport has a 28-8-2 overall record on the Turf Field since they started playing there before the 2008 season. Last season, the Panthers went a perfect 8-0 including three wins in the league tourney. DU has an all-time home record of 45-18-4.
