MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – After a win over the D3 Panther team last week, the D2 Hockey returned to their level of competition, as they hit the road to meet with the no. 2 team in the country, Lindenwood University.
The Lions showed why they were one of the best teams in the country, despite a rather slow start. Their offense picked up in the latter half of the contest, as they went on to win their fifth straight game against the Panthers.

The Lions were unable to capitalize on their 19 shots they put on goal in the opening period, but they exploded for three in the second. Luke Gassett broke the ice just a couple minutes into the period, before Shayne Plummer made it 2-0 Lindenwood a few minutes later. Ian Precht added another later in the frame, and the Lions took a three-goal lead into the final period.
Minutes into the final stanza, Bobby Bross made it 4-0, before RJ Hart extended the lead. A little passed the halfway mark of the period, Andrew Palmiter and Bryce Leger scored 24 seconds apart, and the Lions took home the 7-0 win.
WHO'S NEXT?
The Panthers will stick around in Missouri, as they head on over Chesterfield for the first of two meetings with Maryville University on Saturday. It will be the first time the Saints and Panthers will meet, with Maryville coming into the set with a 1-11 record.
