Purdue Northwest Outlasts Davenport, 2-1

HAMMOND, Ind. - With the score tied 1-1 and short time on the clock, Purdue Northwest scored the go-ahead goal in the 86th minute to outlast Davenport on Friday afternoon, 2-1. The loss drops the Panthers to 0-3 on the season and they'll travel to Parkside on Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff against the Rangers.

Purdue Northwest struck first in the sixth minute before freshman, Kathryn Hoeger (pictured), got Davenport on the board in the 52nd thanks to a penalty kick goal, the first score of her career. However, the home team would go on to score its second goal on a penalty kick resulting from a visitor hand ball in the box.

The Panthers dominated the Pride in total shots, 16-8, held the advantage in shots on goal as well, 8-5, and tallied five corner kick attempts to the hosts' one. Eight different Panthers fired a shot including three with multiple attempts apiece in Ashlyn Skidmore (7 shots, 2 SOG), Kandis Orns (2 shots, 1 SOG) and Madeleine Zayan (2 shots, 1 SOG).

In goal, Davenport's Samantha Beckles stopped three shot attempts while Purdue Northwest split time between Leonie Heck (5 saves) and Bridget Grady (2 saves).
