DU Hosts First Game in Nearly Two Years, Defeats LTU 17-8

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - After 689 days without a home game, the Davenport University women's lacrosse team finally got to host one again as it welcomed Lawrence Tech to town on Wednesday night at the DU Turf Field. The Blue Devils (0-2) cut the deficit to three, 7-4, late in the first half before the Panthers (3-0) outscored them by six, 10-4, the rest of the way to win it by nine, 17-8.

Next up on the schedule, Davenport will open up GLIAC play on March 26 at Ashland with the opening draw scheduled for 4 p.m.

Individually, six different Panthers found the back of the net including Ryann Deuel (6), Anna Glynn (3), Aaliyah Miller (3), Monique Vale (2), Brenna Knoll (2), and Reilly Noble (1). Davenport assisted on 11 of its 17 goals thanks to Miller (6 assists), Glynn (3), Knoll (1), and Christine Steffes (1). The Panthers fired a total of 36 shots, 27 of which were on goal, and scored five free-position goals on six attempts.

Defensively, Knoll racked up four ground balls while Miller, Vale and Amber Park each had three. Six Panthers caused one turnover apiece and in goal, Tylor Baker got the win (1-0) with one save and Grace DeRidder saved two shot attempts.

In the team head-to-head, Davenport controlled the action in shots (36-14), shots on goal (27-11), caused turnovers (6-4), ground balls (22-15), draw controls (17-10), and free-position shots (6-0).
