FINDLAY, Ohio – After a rough outing against Adrian College's D1 team the night before, the D2 Hockey team traveled down to Ohio to meet with Bowling Green for the first of two meetings this weekend.
The Panthers jumped out to a big lead in the first period, and were able to coast the rest of the way to take home the first game of the weekend against the Falcons.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Quite a few Panthers had multi-point performances on Friday night.
Jeff Rahilly led the charge with two goals and two assists, with
Adam Hulsey picking up five assist on the night.
Spencer Sandberg,
Nathan Hartline and
Ryan Gamber each picked up a pair of points.
Brenden Bogema had a great performance in net, earning his third win of the season with a 39-save performance.
FLYING OUT OF THE GATES
Despite having to drive down to Ohio, the Panthers showed no signs of bus legs in the first period, as Sandberg scored his fourth of the season just 48 seconds into the contest. 33 seconds later, it was Hartline who scored his fifth to quickly put DU up by two.
Five minutes later, Hulsey and
Alexander Brown set up
Will Healy for his first as a Panther to make it 3-0. In the final minute of the opening period, Rahilly scored to give DU a 4-0 lead heading into the intermission.
CONTINUING TO CONTROL
DU wasted no time to score in period two, as Rahilly potted his second of the game, third of the season, 16 seconds in.
The Falcons finally got on the board a minute later, as Jake Schuette scored his first of the season to bring Bowling Green within four.
However, the Panthers would restore the five-goal lead a few minutes later, as
Gabe Partridge would score his first as a Panther as well, on the power play no less. With a little over five minutes remaining in the stanza,
Spencer Anderson found the back of the net, which was followed up a little while later by a goal from
Jacob Demeter, each their fourth goals of the season, to make it 8-1 Panthers.
Bowling Green began to show a little bit of life in the latter half of the game. Matthew Moscrop scored his fifth of the season late in the second period. In the third period, Adam Burtzlaff and Falcons' leading-scoring Ryan Hill potted goals. Yet, it was too little, too late as the Panthers were able to hold on for the 8-4 win.
WHO'S NEXT?
The two teams will meet once again tomorrow evening, this time at Patterson Ice Center. Puck drop of the second half of the back-to-back is set for 5:30 p.m.
