GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - After a long hiatus, the Davenport men's tennis team didn't skip a beat with a 7-0 win over Aquinas on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers and Saints, old rivals in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, renewed acquaintances at MVP SportsPlex.Â
The Panthers did not yield a single match and it all started in doubles.
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen and
Juan Jose Pino Contoleon got a 6-3 win at one doubles.
Frank Piana III and
Daniil Khitrou came away with a 7-5 win at two doubles.
Matt Leatherman and
Jonathan Bulmer cruised to a 6-0 win at three doubles.
The Panthers did not even drop a set in singles. The biggest margin was 6-1, 6-1 at six singles as Leatherman defeated Jackson VanBergen. van Antwerpen also had a relatively easy match at one singles with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Max Goldbeck-Lowe.Â
