HAMMOND, Ind. – The D2 Hockey team had a week off after two dominating wins over Lake Superior State. They went on the road for the first time to take on Purdue-Northwest, a team the Panthers outscored 23-1 in a weekend series last season.
Davenport was met by a different Pride team on Friday, as the game went down to the wire with back-and-forth scoring. Yet, neither team found the deciding goal, and the game ended in a tie.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Offense was aplenty for the Panthers, as they were led by
Nathan Hartline,
Spencer Sandberg and
Jacob Demeter, as each tallied a goal and an assist in the contest. Despite giving up five goals in the game,
Drake Deering put in a solid outing, making 41 saves.
THE MASKED MEN
The opening 20 minutes may have seen only one goal,
Tyler Majewski's first of the season, but that did not mean it was not for a lack of trying. The Pride and Panthers combined for 31 shots in the frame, with Deering stopping all 13 shots he faced while Purdue-NW's Kyle Fritz made 17 saves.
BUSINESS PICKED UP
The missed opportunities in the first opportunities were converted on in the second. Josh Hall scored minutes in for the Pride to tie it at one. A little over five minutes left in the period, Purdue-NW's leading scorer, Craig Herman, scored his eighth of the season to give the Pride the lead. However, less than 30 seconds later, Sandberg found the back of the net for the third time this season to tie the game at two. In the final minutes of the middle stanza, Brown scored to send Davenport into the intermission with a 3-2 lead.
FIRING AWAY
In the third period, five more goals were scored, all of them in first half of the frame.
Kevin Pietrucha scored his third of the season for PNW to tie the game once again just over two minutes into the period. However, just 10 seconds later, Hartline scored to give the Panthers the lead for the second time on the afternoon. Shortly thereafter, the Pride's Cole Bocock tied the game at four. Demeter put DU back out in front with his third of the season, but the game would be tied right back at up just minutes later by Brett Bandstra.
The final 10 minutes of the third, and five minutes of overtime, saw neither team score, and the game ended tied at five.
WHO'S NEXT?
