Davenport to Make First Road Trip of 2021

After dropping its first two games of the season, the Davenport University men's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in 2021 when it travels to Wayne State on Friday and Saturday. The Panthers and Warriors (1-1) will tip off at 6 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday inside Wayne State's Matthaei Center. The Warriors traveled to Lake Superior State on their opening weekend winning the first game, 87-76, before dropping the two teams' rematch, 75-64.

Through those two games, a trio of Warriors are averaging double-figures in scoring including redshirt junior guard, Darian Owens-White (17.5), junior guard, Antonio Marshall (13.0), and redshirt sophomore forward, Avery Lewis (13.0). Leading the way on the rebounding front is Marshall with 7.5 per game while redshirt senior guard, Brailen Neely, paces the Warriors in assists at 5.5 per contest. The Warriors' 16-man roster features just two seniors including Neely, the team's leading scorer from a season ago, and James Gordon IV, who's one of four players redshirting this season.
