LIMA, Ohio - The Davenport women's tennis team split a pair of matches over the weekend against Walsh and Northwestern Ohio. The Panthers fell 5-1 to Walsh on Friday.
Adeline Nelson won in three sets at one singles against Mercedes Fernandez by scores of 4-6, 7-6, 6-1.
Hannah Murphy went three sets at two singles and fell 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 against Maria Kacalova. Nelson and Murphy were victorious at one doubles 6-4.
The Panthers then beat Northwestern Ohio 5-4 on Saturday for their sixth win of the season. Nelson and Murphy won 8-6 at one doubles against Camila Puente and Gabriela Eva. Murphy won at two singles 6-0, 6-2 against Veronica Rydstrom.
Bruna Ralheta won at three singles over Lena Tessmer (7-6, 7-5).Â
Vladislava Shumilova won at four singles against Gabriela Eva by scores of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
Sophie Gossett won at five singles by scores of 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 against Ellen Sandstrom.
