GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The season ended for the women's tennis team on Tuesday afternoon with a 7-0 loss to Northwood University. DU finished with a 1-16 record and were 0-8 in the GLIAC having been short-handed for most of the latter half of the season. Northwood improved to 10-7 overall and 7-2 in the GLIACĀ and now prepare for the GLIAC Tournament.
Both doubles matches ended 6-1 in favor of the Timberwolves.
Willemien Coetzee and
Kailyn Skogmo at one doubles and
Danica Malan and
Taryn Orr at two doubles filled out the lineup for Davenport.
In singles, the Timberwolves did not give up more than three games in any set. Coetzee fell 6-3, 6-1 at one singles against Amanda Bandrowski. Malan was downed 6-0, 6-1 at two singles against Elizaveta Velichko. Skogmo at three singles was defeated 6-0, 6-2 against Rafaella Fulop. Orr at four singles was beaten 6-1, 6-1 against Iryna Trystan.
