Women's Volleyball Makes it Three Straight at Purdue Northwest

WESTVILLE, Ind. - The Davenport University women's volleyball team pushed its winning streak to three matches on Saturday afternoon and did it with a dominant performance against the home team, Purdue Northwest. The Panthers cruised past the Pride in straight sets while hitting .329, their highest percentage of the season.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Davenport crushed Purdue Northwest in the serving department with 10 aces to just two on the other side.

- The Panthers have racked up nine or more aces in each of the last three matches, all wins, to just 10 by those three opponents combined.

- Overall on the season, Davenport has finished a match with at least nine aces in six matches, four of which were victories.

- Among the GLIAC's leaders, the Panthers are first in aces per set (1.85) and tied for first in total aces (100).

- Defensively, DU's effort was just as special as PNW managed to hit just .086, the second-straight sub-.100 effort by the opposition.

- While the Pride was struggling to find a rhythm offensively, the Panthers, by set, hit .444 (zero errors), .391 and .172.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Megan Herr was at it again, this time with 11 kills, a .529 hitting percentage, five total blocks, and three digs.

- The sophomore has finished with double-digit kills in two-straight matches (.500+ hitting percentage in both) and four of her last six.

- Riley Groves had a career day with nine kills to just two errors on 17 swings for a .412 hitting percentage.

- Sami White fueled the attack with 22 assists while Kendra DeJonge and Nina Rudnitsky each tallied four of the team's 10 aces.

- Defensively, Herr paced the Panthers in blocks, but Hayley Kreiger also had two solo stuffs next to her name, and DeJonge dug out eight attacks.

NEXT UP
Davenport will host Northwood on Friday inside the DU Student Center with first serve set for 7 p.m.
