CALEDONIA, Mich. – Davenport rounded out their week with a twin ball against Ferris State University and split 1-1 with the Bulldogs.
Mallory Teunissen continued her dominance on the mound, helping lead the Panthers to a 4-0 lead in game one. In game two Davenport was painstakingly close to sweeping Ferris State. Davenport trailed by one run from innings four through seven and had multiple opportunities to snag the lead. A run was called back in the bottom of the fifth when the plate umpire decided that the Davenport runner did not tag up properly on a fly out, which would have been the game-tying run. The Panthers finish 4-2 in GLIAC play throughout the week and are tied for third with Purdue Northwest.

After multiple scoreless innings for both teams Jewell drove in two runs in the bottom of the fourth. With Griffin on second and
Jorden Urban on third, Jewell stepped to the plate with zero outs and drove in the game-winning runs. After driving in the runs Jewell made her way around the bases and scored by a French sac fly to left field. The fourth run was scored my Rowe in the bottom of the fifth and Teunissen held the Bulldogs scoreless throughout the game. She struck out 14 batters, while only allowing one hit and one walk.

The Bulldogs struck first in the game, scoring in the top of the second off a sac fly to center field. Davenport tied up the game in the next half inning when
Kennedy Crawford reached on a fielder's choice, then Jewell advanced home. Griffin recorded the lone RBI for Davenport in the bottom of the third when she doubled down the left field line to score Koza from third. The Bulldogs responded with two runs of their own in the top of the fourth take a 3-2 lead. Davenport had a couple opportunities in later innings to tie up the game, but were unable to follow through on them.

The Panthers take a significant road trip over the next two weeks. Davenport plays 10 road games before coming back to the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex on Friday, April 6.
