Davenport drops overtime decision to Adrian College

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport competed in a tough battle against the Bulldogs of Adrian College. The Panthers forced overtime with a goal in the third period to tie the game. An early goal by the Bulldogs in the overtime period ended the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Kyle McConnell got things going quickly for Davenport with his goal just 10 seconds into the game, assisted by Kyle Mazur. Adrian College settled down and scored two unanswered goals to take a 2-1 lead heading into the second period.
-Both goalies had solid second periods as neither one let up a goal. The Bulldogs still held a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.
-Davenport found some magic in the third period to tie up the game. Marc Rotondo scored an even strength goal in minute number nine of the period, assisted by Nick Sargent and Chris McRae. Both teams couldn't get a goal during the remaining minutes of the third period, overtime was needed to determine a winner.
-Adrian scored just 46 seconds into the game to take the win.
-The game was full of penalties for both teams, a total of 21 penalties were called during the game.
-McConnell and Rotondo each scored one goal.
-Mazur, Sargent and McRae all had one assist.
-Devin Rosema spent the whole game in net.
 
UP NEXT
The Panthers travel to Bloomington, Indiana for a two game road series against Indiana University.
