HOUGHTON, Mich. – Davenport traveled to Michigan Tech to take on the Huskies and struggled. The Huskies won all nine points of the match and Davenport dropped to 1-5 in conference play.
In doubles
Steph Ritson and
Adeline Nelson put up a fight in their match, but ultimately lost 6-8. A new duo played in second doubles slot,
Bridget Barrett and
Sophie Gossett teamed up for the first time this season. They lost 2-8 and Davenport defaulted in the final doubles match.
Ritson played in the first singles spot again, putting up the best fight of all the DU singles matches. She lost 1-6 and 4-6 to Ivona Gorgioski. Nelson played in the second singles and lost 0-6 and 3-6. Barrett played in the third singles slot, while Gossett played in the fourt singles spot. Both Gossett and Barrett lost 0-6 and 3-6.
Davenport has a quick turnaround as they travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to take on Lake Superior State tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
