GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport sets history when
Kasey Stehouwer serves for 14 straight points in the second set of the match against Trinity Christian College. During that stretch Davenport posted seven kills, contributed by four different Panthers. The Panthers win their first match against Cardinal Stritch, and fall in their second to Trinity Christian College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 25-13
-The first set was close to start, then Davenport scored seven of eight points in the middle of the game to sustain the lead throughout the first set.
-The second set was similar to the first set, after the game was tied at 6-6 the Panthers scored nine out of the next 11 points to win by seven points.
-The third set was a quick hiccup for Davenport. The Panthers battled back and forth with the Wolves, as they would eventually fall by three points.
-The fourth and final set solidified the Panthers good performance. After the scored was tied at 9-9 the Panthers scored 16 out of the next 23 points.

Ashley VanderHorst led the way as she tallied 12 kills while hitting .360.

Sydney Tracer and
Sami White shared tick at the setter position, Tracer tallied 17 assists and White notched 22 assists.
-Stehouwer was the leader in digs with 22.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 22-25, 25-11, 22-25, 20-25
-The four set match saw its share of ups and down for the Panthers. All three sets that the Panthers lost were within in five points.
-The first set saw a Panther comeback fall short, Davenport was down 19-24 and rallied to score three straight points before losing.
-History was made during the second set! Stehouwer served for 14 straight points in the middle of the set. VanderHorst tallied three kills during this stretch. The 14 point streak is the longest point streak in a single match at Davenport University!
-The third set was another nail bitter, Davenport would score five straight points to tie the game at 22-22 before Trinity would score the last three points and win the set.
-The Panthers get down early in the final set, which creates to big of a comeback. Davenport was down 7-16, then would rally and make it 20-23. The Trolls would string a couple points together to finish the match.
-
Krissy Dill registered a double double as she had 17 kills and 17 digs, she also finished with three solo blocks.
-White would lead the team with 26 assists, Tracer wasn't far behind her with 19 assists.
-The team finished with 50 kills and a .108 attack percentage.
