GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The women's volleyball team won their sixth straight set after they defeated Aquinas 3-0 at home tonight. Davenport outscored Aquinas 28-26, 25-21, and 25-16. The Panthers (5-8, 2-3 WHAC) won the mental game today as they had only 12 attack errors for the match, while Aquinas tallied 25 attack errors.
The first set of the match had everyone on the edge of their seat. Davenport took a 18-13 lead late in the first set, then Aquinas started chipping away. With the score tied at 26 apiece

Krissy Dill as she followed through with a blistering kill. Davenport won the next point on an error by Aquinas.
After the end of the first set, Davenport started feeling some momentum on their side. Davenport scored the opening five points of the second set, and held a three to six point lead throughout the whole set.
Ashley VanderHorst had a great second set as she tallied eight kills on 21 attacks.
The third set was a thing of beauty, as Davenport notched six straight points to lead 11-4 part way through the set. Dill put the icing on the cake as she blasted a kill across the net with an assist credited to
Sydney Tracer. Aquinas was 7-3 coming into today's match, and now have lost four out of their last five matches. Davenport looks to carry the momentum into their Panther Invitational this weekend.
