Panthers End 2016 With Stellar Road Win At Saint Xavier

Wes Webbert and Kevin Rich have career nights

CHICAGO, Illinois. – Panthers finish off the 2016 year on a solid note with an impressive 23-point road win against Saint Xavier University. Kevin Rich broke the programs record for most three-point field goals made in an individual career. Rich now has 244 three pointers made, passing Javontae Ford's record of 242. Both of these records were possible because of the un-selfishness and complete team basketball that was produced by the Panthers tonight.

The Panthers got a rhythm going towards the start of the half, tallying a 10-2 run to lead 12-7 after a jumper by Webbert. The teams were neck and neck all the way up until the last couple minutes. With 2:11 left on the clock Saint Xavier led 30-28, a couple three point buckets by Javon Haines and Webbert, plus a lay-up by Haines, created a 9-2 run to end the half. Saint Xavier didn't fold though, they went on a small run towards the end of the game and cut the lead to 13 points with just over five minutes to play. Davenport closed out the half with key stops and timely made free throws to win by 23.
