Panthers Complete Sweep Of Lindenwood After Defeating Them 4-1 Earlier Today

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport completes the sweep of Lindenwood University earlier this afternoon with a score of 4-1. The Panthers improved to 12-3-2 on the year and have increased their win streak to two games. Donald Sund continued his dominant showing against Lindenwood with two goals today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sund picked up right where he left off yesterday, scoring goals and being a force on the offensive end of the rink. He scored in the 14th minute of play, Sund was assisted by Jake Otto and Jessee Game. The rest of the period was a defensive battle as no more goals were scored and Davenport went into the second period with a 1-0 lead.
-The second period saw neither team score. Lindenwood tallied 12 shots on goal during the period and Davenport countered with 11 shots on goal.
-The Panthers opened things up in the third period as they scored three goals. Lindenwood snuck one goal in during the period, however that wasn't enough to combat the three goals scored by DU. Sund netted his second goal of the game to start off the third period on an un-assisted effort.
-Sund led DU with two goals.
-Five Panthers got an assist during the game, Chris McRae, Branden Burton, Marc Rotondo, Otto and Game.
-Tyler Buchanan got his second straight start today, he played all three periods and tallied 31 saves while only letting up one goal.

UP NEXT
Davenport increased its win streak to two games after the win and now are 12-3-2. The Panthers are off for the rest of the weekend and will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan next week to take on the University of Michigan in a mini series.
