ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Panthers met Concordia (Mich.) Wednesday night and saw a fight with the 9-5, 4-4 Cardinals. DU trailed 15-14 after one quarter before 24-15 second quarter edge gave the Panthers the lead for good.
Mallory Sewell led DU all game as she recorded a career-high 20 points with seven rebounds as the Panthers pulled away to a 89-72 win and a 13-3, 9-0 record.
DU saw a battle in the first quarter as the Cardinals took a 15-14 lead after 10 minutes of play. The Panthers then responded as they recorded a nine-point edge in the second quarter to overtake the lead for good.
Momo Neal would add to the DU offensive surge as she totaled a career high 13 points to accompany four rebounds and five assists. The Panthers would extend their lead in the third quarter as they would outscore the Cardinals by 13 points and extend their lead to 21 heading into the fourth quarter.
Kendra Cook would help fuel the Panthers inside as DU would outscore the Cardinals 56-34 in the paint. Cook recorded a season-high 16 points and totaled a career-high 10 rebounds for her for her first career double-double.
The Cardinals did not quit fighting as they would win the fourth quarter 24-20 and kept themselves in the game. The Panthers would not led Concordia pull within single digits as they saw five players reach double figures in scoring, including
Alex Law who totaled 13. DU dominated from the bench as they outscored Concordia 48-8.
