GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Davenport women's lacrosse team played their second game of their three game weekend as they faced host, No. 4 Georgetown (Ky.). Davenport was able outscore Georgetown 7-0 in the second half, as Taylor Balch tallied six goals for the Panthers in the 13-5 win. The Lady Panthers will conclude their weekend on Sunday morning when they face No. 1 Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) at 11 a.m. in Georgetown, Ky.

Balch scored six goals and two assists to lead the team, and this was the second time in as many days that she recorded six goals in a game. Kaitlyn Lowden recorded her fifth hat-trick of the season with three goals and one assist, while Sara Kuzava, Jessica Lemcke, Tara Pluger and Amber Livingston all tallied goals for the Panthers.

Georgetown got on the board first, just 1:10 into the game to take a 1-0 lead, but the Panthers rallied back to score three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead with 21:29 left in the first half. The scoring settled down midway through the first half as each team tallied two goals apiece over the next 13:31 as DU led 5-3 with 7:45 left, but the Tigers scored two quick goals to tie the game 5-5 with 4:12 left in the first. However, Balch was able to score just before the end of the first half as DU took a 6-5 lead into the locker room.

The Panthers started to take over in the second half as the scored three goals in the first 2:26 of the second half to increase their lead to 9-5 after Lowden's final goal of the day. The Davenport defense was able to stymie the Tiger offense, as Georgetown was held scoreless in the second half, as Davenport went on to win, 13-5.

This is the second time all season that Davenport has held a team scoreless in either half of the game, with the first time coming against Ave Maria (Fla.) in the Panthers first game of the season.

Davenport will conclude their weekend road trip in Georgetown, Ky., on Sunday morning as they face SCAD at 11 a.m. from Toyota Stadium.
