Davenport Athletics Network
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport begins their final eight days of the regular season on Saturday in which they will host three consecutive home games beginning with Indiana Tech. The No. 9 ranked Panthers bring a 22-5 overall record into the contest with the Warriors as they look for the season sweep after defeating IT on the road 77-46 on January 11.

Scouting Indiana Tech – 15-12, 10-9 WHAC – Head coach Al Grushkin (4th Year)
Fourth year head coach Al Grushkin has the Warriors fighting for a home playoff game in the WHAC Tournament as they are currently in fifth place at 10-9 in league contests. The Warriors, 15-12 overall, have been led by the consistent play of Rontray Chavis who has been named the WHAC Player of the Week twice this season. The junior is averaging 16.2 points per game and is followed in double-figures by Jeff Hoskin (13.2) and Nick Lewis (11.5). The Warriors have had a tough stretch as of late, dropping four of their last five games with their last win coming on February 6 against Marygrove.
Last Meeting vs. Indiana Tech
Davenport jumped on the host Warriors early and never let up while posting their largest margin of victory win in the series by the final score of 77-46.
JaVontae Ford had 18 points in the win while
Nick Gamble had 17 in his return to his hometown of Fort Wayne. The Davenport defense limited the Warriors to just 14 second half points while posting just their third win ever at Indiana Tech.
History Against Indiana Tech
Although Indiana Tech leads the all-time series 12-10, the recent play has been controlled by the Panthers as head coach
Burt Paddock has led his troops to four straight wins in the rivalry. Since Paddock came on board, DU is 9-4 against Indiana Tech which includes winsin four out of the last five at the Student Center.
History in the Poll
Davenport, which has been ranked inside the Top-25 for 59 consecutive weeks, sits at No. 9 in the latest poll announced on Tuesday. The Panthers have the second longest streak in the Top-25 in the country as Northwood (Fla.) has the longest. While ranked No. 9, the Panthers boast a record of 11-4.
