GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After being off from competition for nearly three weeks the Davenport D2 hockey team will return to action this weekend as they travel down Charleston, Ill., for a pair of road games against Eastern Illinois. After beating Indiana Tech last time out, the Panthers will continue their stretch of seven straight road games with the second game of the stretch on Friday at 8 p.m. in Charleston, Ill.

Scouting Eastern IllinoisÂ
Eastern Illinois comes into the weekend with a 3-14-0-1 record on the season and is in Independent squad in ACHA Division 2. The last time they were in action was two weeks ago, when they face ACHA D3 opponent Northwestern in a road weekend series. The Panthers were swept by the Wildcats 10-2 and then 4-3. The leading scorer for Eastern Illinois is Thomas Stobart, with 11 goals and 19 points on the season, while Glenn Oskvarek is tied as the leading goal scorer with 11 on the season. In net, Zach Peifer has played the majority of minutes for the team playing, 498:15 thus far.

Donald Sund is the leading goal scorer on the squad with 17, and
Branden Burton has 24 assists to lead the team. Davenport has a potent offensive attack scoring an average of 8.1 goals per game. The team only allows 2.6 goals per game and in net this season
Andrew Habasevich and
Tyler Kuehl have split time in net this season, each playing in six games apiece.
