GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Davenport's 14
th-ranked volleyball team returned to Georgetown College's Boneyard Brawl Saturday morning. The Panthers couldn't force a fifth set in their 3-1 loss to the host No. 17 Tigers, but they did pull an upset against No. 9 Viterbo one hour later, defeating the Hawks 3-1 to avenge a loss two weeks ago at the Student Center.

Davenport (25-7) finishes the Boneyard Brawl 3-1 as well as its non-conference slate 11-5. The Panthers will finish the regular-season in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play starting Wednesday against Cornerstone at 7 p.m. at the Student Center. DU is currently in a three-way tie for first place in the standings with Northwestern Ohio and Madonna at 14-2.

Match 1 – Georgetown 3, Davenport 1 (24-26, 20-25, 25-20, 23-25)The Tigers never trailed in the first set but Davenport reel itself closer to the lead near the end to force extra serves. However the Panthers could not capitalize after a kill followed by an attacking error gave the win to the Tigers. DU started the second set taking the first three points but Georgetown bounced from the short deficit and never looked back to a 25-20 result.

Davenport and Georgetown went back-and-forth with the lead in the third set but the Panthers held on to salvage their only win 25-20. The Panthers jumped a 3-0 lead to start the four set but a seven-point run by the Tigers gave them control of the game.

Lameyer appeared to be unstoppable against the Tiger defense, recording a team-best 15 kills.
Marcey DeHaan and
Hannah Stone each had 11 kills to round out the Panthers in double figures.
Morgan Torres led a group of five Panthers to reach double figures in digs, collecting 18. Getty finished the first match with 43 assists.

Match 2 – Davenport 3, Viterbo 1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20)In their first meeting since the Panther Invitational two weeks ago, Davenport and Viterbo opened the match exchanging the lead until a 7-2 run by the Panthers midway through set up a 25-19 opening-set victory.

The Hawks (30-7) turned the tide around early in the second game, using a 10-2 momentum to build a 10-5 lead. The Panthers did gain ground to take a 19-18 lead until the Hawks took seven of the next 11 points to win set two 25-23.

DU did manage to build a 5-0 run on two different occasions to help win the third set 25-21. Davenport trailed by as many as four in the fourth set (8-4), but it did stay under that deficit an 8-0 run midway through helped the Panthers build an 18-13 lead. DU went on to take the fourth set 25-20.

Stone racked up 17 kills and 11 total blocks for a double-double.
Krissy Dill also had a double-double, recording 10 kills and 14 digs.
Marcey DeHaan had 13 kills but came up one dig short from joining Dill in the double-double. Torres finished the second match setting a career-high 27 digs.
