GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After having a much-needed week off from competition, the No. 19 Davenport women's soccer team returns to action Saturday at Madonna looking to keep the hopes of winning a third straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship alive. The Panthers and Crusaders kick off at noon and can be followed via live stats.

A Quick Look at Madonna – 8-6-0, 2-3-0 (6 Points) – Head coach Jeff Hodgson (Fifth Season)
The Crusaders began a three-match homestand with a 4-0 non-conference win over Cleary Tuesday. Madonna earned two WHAC wins over Marygrove and Concordia but had suffered defeats to UNOH, Siena Heights and Aquinas. Seniors Katlyn Krysiak and Ashley Parent continue to be the leading scorers for the Crusader ballclub. Krysiak paces the team with nine goals and two behind her is Parent. Junior Blaire Schmalenberg has played every minute for Madonna and owns a 1.39 GAA.
 
Panthers-Crusaders Series
Davenport has won the last six meetings with Madonna and has gone undefeated in the last nine. Madonna had a chance to break that skid in the regular-season meeting on the Turf Field last year but the Panthers rallied from a two-goal deficit in the first half and take a 4-3 double-overtime thriller. The two met again at DU's campus for the WHAC Tournament semifinal. Abbey Tyson's first-half goal was all that was needed for the Panthers to advance to the championship round.
 
Down the Home Stretch
Davenport has four contests remaining in the regular-season with it divided in half between home and on the road. DU is six points behind first-place Northwestern Ohio in the WHAC standings. The Panthers and Racers meet on the Turf Field next Saturday.
