GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a 113-41 win over Marygrove Wednesday to start the second half of the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference season, the 10
th-ranked Davenport women's basketball team will be making its second trip to the state of Ohio Saturday when it will play host Lourdes at 5:30 p.m. Fans can follow the game live on the Davenport Athletics Network (DAN) with
Ken Clemens on the microphone.
Davenport (19-1, 11-1 WHAC) is currently in perhaps the toughest part of its conference schedule, playing four of five games away from the Student Center. The Panthers will be making a return home Wednesday to host Northwestern Ohio but will immediately get back on the bus for two more games.
The Panthers had no trouble finding the basket in its win at Marygrove. While the Panthers reached the 100-point barrier for the fifth time this season, they did so with a 60 percent shooting percentage, which ranks second-best in program history. The 2009-10 Panthers shot 61 percent from the field at Spring Hill College to set the program record.
Lourdes got its second half of the WHAC season started the same way it started the first, a victory over newcomer Lawrence Tech Wednesday. The Gray Wolves had an 11-point lead at one point during the game but had bounced back from a seven-point deficit to beat the Blue Devils 58-54.
