Aiken joined the women's volleyball program at Davenport in July of 2019. In her first season as the program's top assistant, the Panthers finished with an overall record of 11-16 (6-10 in GLIAC play) and just missed out on playing in the league's postseason tournament. Davenport finished as the best serving team in the league as it led the conference in total service aces with 173 and service aces per set with 1.77. Aiken helped develop a pair of all-conference performers in First-Team recipient, Hayley Kreiger, and Honorable Mention honoree, Sami White.
Prior to coming to DU, Abby spent a few years as an assistant at Grand Valley State. She was a full-time assistant with the Lakers during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. With the Lakers, Aiken had her hands in academics, travel, equipment, scouting, recruiting, and summer camps. She has both a Bachelor of Science in physical education and a Master's in adult and higher education, both from Grand Valley State.
Before her stint with Grand Valley, she spent one year as the head varsity coach at Forest Hills Northern High School in 2015. The team held a 6-3 conference record during her tenure with the Huskies. Aiken has also been involved with the Michigan Volleyball Academy since the fall of 2012 as a Youth Travel Coach.
Aiken spent her playing career at GVSU, where she had an outstanding four-year career with the Lakers. She was a captain for two years and finished with 1,326 kills and 1,065 digs for her career. In addition, she made the All-GLIAC Second Team twice, All-GLIAC First Team once and named the GLIAC Player of the Year in 2013. During her time at Grand Valley, the women's volleyball program won the GLIAC Tournament in 2013, and advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2014.
