Dzenan Catic joins the men's soccer coaching staff in 2017 and will provide experience from playing at a professional level. Catic is a former East Kentwood High School and Davenport University standout who helped guide the Panthers to the 2014 NAIA National Championship. Catic was named NAIA Player of the Year that season and put up huge numbers with 39 goals, 89 points, eight game-winning goals and 3.6 points per game. He also delivered a hat trick in the team's semifinal win.

Originally from Jablanica, Bosnia, Catic set scoring records and was named Michigan Mr. Soccer in 2010 while at East Kentwood. He then went to play professionally in Germany for a couple of years before he joined Davenport. In his two years with the Panthers, Catic had 63 goals, 14 assists and 140 points in 47 matches played.

On January 15, 2015, Catic was selected 31st overall in the MLS SuperDraft by the Philadelphia Union. He signed with the club on March 1. Catic was loaned to the Union's USL partner club Harrisburg City Islanders in March 2015. He signed with Rio Grande Valley FC in January 2016 and played for the Toros scoring six goals in five matches.
