Ryan McCosky will have oversight of nine sports programs at Davenport University including men's and women's bowling, four ice hockey teams, men's and women's rugby, and men's volleyball. In addition, he will continue to retain his role as an assistant baseball coach.

McCosky returns for his eighth season as a member of the Davenport baseball coaching staff. McCosky's duties focus on hitting and outfield work.

Over the last three seasons while a member of the GLIAC, McCosky has helped tutor both Zac Wilson and Jacob Buchberger who won GLIAC Player of the Year honors. The DU offense over the last five seasons has compiled a .333 batting average.

McCosky spent four years at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, where he served as interim head coach, head JV coach and assistant coach while earning his master’s degree.

For three summers, McCosky coached for the Grand Rapids Diamonds, working closely with the Under-16 and Under-18 teams. Both teams had won back-to-back Black Swamp tournament championships in Ohio. 

While with the Cardinals, McCosky spent time coaching third base and worked with the outfielders as well as running the strength and conditioning program. He also coached for the Michigan Sports Academy travel baseball program for two summers as head coach of both the 16U and 18U teams. In addition, he served as a hitting instructor for the US Baseball Academy during the winter months. 

McCosky played two seasons at Kalamazoo Valley Community College before transferring to Concordia. He was All-Conference and All-Academic as an outfielder in his final season.

McCosky and his wife, Kristen, reside in Mattawan with their children - Charleston and Hudson.
