Prior to DU: Attended the University of South Alabama...won a Sun Belt Championship in 2015 after a 19-9 league mark...shared Sun Belt title going 21-9 in league and advanced to NCAA regional hosted by Florida State...appeared in 11 games and made three starts in 2015...posted a 3.54 ERA and 1-2 record in 20.1 innings...struck out 16 and walked nine...lettered two years at Grand Rapids Community College...named Third Team All-Michigan Community College Athletic Association as a sophomore after going 6-3 with one save, a shutout and five complete games in 16 appearances, 12 of which were starts...posted a 3.45 ERA while leading the Raiders in strikeouts (45) and innings pitched (70.1)...also named to the Region XII All-Tournament Team...went 3-1 with five saves in 17 appearances as a freshman...posted a 4.15 ERA and struck out 28 batters in 34.2 innings pitched...helped GRCC to back-to-back NJCAA Division II Junior College World Series appearances in 2012-13.

High School: Lettered two years at Rockford HS...won four games and did not allow an earned run in 30 innings pitched his senior season while helping lead the Rams to the Division I state championship...posted a 1.60 ERA in 60 innings pitched as a junior...voted the team’s most improved player as a sophomore.

Personal: Son of Mark and Wendy Stephens...working towards his MBA...father was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1990 and spent parts of six seasons in the minors.
