The ABCA/Rawlings Award Program is one of the most comprehensive in all of sports, awarding All-America Teams and Gold Glove Teams in nine divisions of amateur baseball as well as All-Region Teams in five divisions.
Senior second baseman
Nolan Bryant (Rockford, Mich.) earned a Gold Glove in NCAA Division II and became the first Panther to accomplish this feat. Bryant has been a steady defensive player throughout his career but in 2021 committed just one error in 210 fielding chances. He did not commit that error until May 10 and finished with 86 putouts and 123 assists. He also was a part of 28 double plays turned.
"I am so happy for Nolan," said head coach
Kevin Tidey. "I know this is an award that he really wanted and he works so hard on his defense. He won us a lot of games with his glove, and a lot of our team success wouldn't have happened without him and his plays in the field."
Bryant finished his Davenport career with a .981 fielding percentage in 182 career games and ranks second all-time with 403 assists.
