Panthers conclude Roto Grip Classic

The men's team placed sixth and the women's team placed 12th

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio - The Davenport bowling teams hit the lanes for the second time this year and showed quality improvement since the first competition. The men's team placed sixth out of 15 teams, while the women's team finished 12th out of 14.

The women's team bowled in 12 baker games and cracked 200 in the fifth and sixth games with a 206 and 230. They also were able to roll a 218 in the 11th baker game and came away with 4,586 pins including three team games and a baker total of 2,171. Omani Morales placed 34th in the three games she bowled with an average of 185.67 and bowled a 200 in the second game. Carissa Richmond placed 53rd overall with an average of 174.67 and had a 209 in the third game. Emily Tanis bowled a 155.33 average in her three games.

The men's team had the same format as the women and totaled 3,027 pins in the three team games. They then rolled over a 200 seven out of 12 baker games for a total of 2,362 and a grand total of 5,389. The sixth game of 219 was the high point in the baker contests. Brandon Hyska came in 20th place as the top finisher for the Panthers in three games with an average of 221.3 and rolled a high of 237 in the third game. Logan Smith finished 31st overall with an average of 216 and had a high of 236 in the first game of the block. Andres Baculi finished 45th overall with an average of 205.7 and topped out at 229 in the second game.
