Box Score 2 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport tennis teams faced off with NAIA national powerhouse Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday at the GR Racquet Club. The men's team fell 6-1 and the women's team fell 7-0 to the Wildcats.
Jonathan Bulmer was able to get a win at four singles for the Panthers over Justo Villanueva by scores of 6-2, 0-6, 6-4.
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen also took his opponent Martin Carrizo at one singles to three sets. Carrizo rallied after dropping the first set 6-2 and won 6-2, 6-3 in the next two sets.
The women's team was forced to play short-handed with just four singles matches being played. The Wildcats took two doubles matches with three doubles being a withdraw.
Isabella Carofano went three sets with Thais Mendez at two singles. She won 6-4 in the first set but dropped the next two by scores of 6-4, 10-5.Â
