LIMA, Ohio - The Davenport women's tennis team could not end a recent skid over the weekend as they fell to Northwestern Ohio on Friday and Lawrence Tech on Saturday. The Panthers fell to 1-6 overall this season.
Northwestern Ohio now leads the all-time series 11-9 after a 5-2 win on Friday.
Kailyn Skogmo and
Taryn Orr did not have to play at three doubles because the Racers could not field a full team for the match. UNOH won the other two doubles matches to take the point.
Danica Malan notched her first singles win of the season at the three spot with a 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 win over Veronika Kovalchuk. Orr at six singles by default got the other point.
On Saturday, the Panthers got as close as they have to a win since the season opener against Aquinas in a 4-3 setback to the Blue Devils (2-3). LTU won both doubles matches that were completed. Oona Kintscher and Samantha Kohn won 6-3 at the one spot over Malan and
Willemien Coetzee. Eva Ramsimmer and Maria Nicholls at three doubles beat Skogmo and Orr 6-2.
Isabella Carofano got her first singles win of the season at the two spot over Kohn by scores of 7-6, 6-0. Skogmo got her second singles win of the season at five singles with a 6-1, 6-3 decision over Jessica Bettley. Orr got her first win in singles at the sixth position with a 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 thriller over Erin Hatala.
