Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Panthers downed by Huskies

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The last time these two teams played was back on January 25, which happened to be the first GLIAC win of the season for Davenport. The Panthers were looking for the sweep tonight, but were handed a double digit loss by Michigan Tech. Ellie Mackay went off for the Huskies, scoring 27 points and shooting 7/9 from three. Jenna Falkenberg had quite the night as well, scoring 24 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

The Panthers have been on a small losing streak after their senior day win against Wayne State back on February eight. They were trying to shake that and get on a win streak to end the season, but the Panthers have just two more games left in the 2019-20 season now. Davenport held the majority of the Huskies team in check, but the 27 points by Mackay were daggers throughout the game.

Falkenberg, Madison Jones and Scout Nelson all scored in double digits. The 24 points by Falkenberg pushed her into 10th place in career points at Davenport. She now has 1,161 points for her career, with a couple more games remaining. The three ball wasn't falling for Davenport tonight, as they went 3/20 in the game.

Davenport will now travel to Northern Michigan for their second to last game of the season on Saturday.
